Earth Day/ Spring Activities

On Earth Day we enjoyed some lazy time, reading about seeds, and some planting fun.

Because my budding artist enjoys everything about art, we painted our pots first. I asked AJ what colors he wanted and he excitedly answered "Gweeeeeeen" (Green); he must have known how significant that color meant to the world as a whole, and how going "green" is important for him and his little friends generation.

The best part about planting seeds and allowing children to watch them grow.. is the pleasure of eating fruits, herbs and vegetables harvested by your toddler! AJ was so excited, and this morning he ran over to the pot to check to see if the seeds were "up" yet.

What you used for this activity:
Reading "The Tiny Seed"
1. Terra Cotta pot
2. Acrylic Paint
3. Organic seeds (we used tomateo seeds)
4. Organic potting soil and compost
5. Pick a fun book to read pertaining to veggies, planting seeds, or whatever your little heart desires. (we read The Tiny Seed by Eric Carle $3.12 over at

Have Fun!!! =)
